What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

An infographic is a visual representation of information, like a pictogram or a picture of some sorts. Infographics sort information in an easy and understandable way. A good infographic shouldn't be complex but instead a easy visual representation of information.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

Although I didn't go to homecoming, I still had a really fun weekend. On Saturday, I went over to a friend's house and messed around for a while. I was going to sleep over, but I had to go to church. On Sunday, I watched some football and had my first basketball practice for my competitive team.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

The difference that I would make would be to not put any prerequisite on any of the classes. If a student wants to take an advanced class at an earlier level, let them. And if they don't succeed, that's their fault for putting themselves in a class that they weren't ready for.

What are your favorite apps on your phone or tablet? Why?

My favorite apps include Flappy Golf, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and iFunny. I like Flappy Golf because it is the best game ever. I like iFunny because it has some really funny posts. The rest of them are pretty much needs because, as you can see, the rest of them relate to social media.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

Email is electronic mail. I use it when I need to contact my teachers for assignments, but otherwise, I don't use it at all. People use email to contact other people and for advertising purposes. Email etiquette means that you should be kind with what you say in your emails and not mean.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I think I made the right choice when I chose to take Emerging Technology. The web tools I have learned about will immensely help me in college and I am very grateful. These tools will help me in so many ways when I am writing papers and trying to organize ideas.

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

Usually I like writing but I take a lot longer to write than most other people, so I always feel like I am behind. I enjoy writing stories, not essays and statistical stuff. You need to be able to write in college so its a very good idea to start it now. I enjoyed writing in English today because we got to make up a character and create a story about them.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.
This quote means that you should be prepared or you are setting yourself up for failure. One time this was the case was when I didn't study for a Social Studies test. I ended up getting a really bad grade on it.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!
This weekend I watched some football. I also played some football. It was pretty cool. My fantasy team won... so that was good.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

Doing extensive research is very important when your doing projects. You need to know how to research because if you don't, it is very hard to find good, credible articles to support your topic. We have learned to always make sure the author/article is credible before we use it. My teacher has been very helpful.

Video Game Addiction

For my global issue in Emerging Technology I have chosen Video Game Addiction. I have begun researching the issue and you can find my research questions here.
Pretend that you are in your 70s or 80s. Complain about kids these days.

Oh kids these days. I can't believe them! They are always sitting  around on their little handheld computers. All of the boys are wearing colored shorts while I think that cargos are still the best choice.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

Over the weekend I mostly watched football. I played a little bit too and I hurt my elbow after I hit a tree stump and fell off my bike. When I came inside, my dog had gotten into the gummy bears and he bit me in the leg. We then had to make him throw up because gummy bears are extremely poisonous to dogs! So overall, a pretty good weekend.

Cyberbullying Presentation

Yesterday I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

I think we were asked to be uncommon because you didn't want our presentation to be boring and dull. The point of making them uncommon is to show that you really do care about the issue instead of just throwing together a presentation because you had to. While bullets and headers would be boring, an emotional presentation would stay on someone's mind for a long time.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

My Labor Day weekend was filled with adventure! I slept over at my friend's house on Sunday, and we stayed up until 2:00 A.M. playing video games! On Monday, I met up with another friend and went to a Labor Day celebration at my friend's country club. The funniest part was seeing a bunch of drunk adults having a belly flop contest! I am really sad about coming back to school.
