What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Do you have any traditions? Go in to detail about your plans for the 5 day weekend.

Thanksgiving break is going to be really fun this year. On Wednesday, we are getting together with my mom's side of the family to celebrate early. Then on Thanksgiving Day, I'm going to my Aunt's house to celebrate with my dad's side of the family. As for the rest of the break, I really don't have much to do.

Reflecting on the comments and grade of your stop-motion animation... what you would do differently if you had to do it all over again? Would you manage your time better? Find better lighting for your photos? Come up with a better idea? Explain what you would change about your video.

If I were to do my stop-motion all over again, I would keep the camera more still so it looked more realistic. I would have brought in my props earlier so that I would have my video done on time and turned in. I think that my idea was really good so I wouldn't change it. I would keep the camera more still.

Tell me about your experience with taking your stop-motion photos. What problems did you run in to? What did you find difficult about the process? What would you go back and change about HOW you took the photos? Explain yourself.

When I was taking the pictures for my stop-motion animation, it was really annoying when the camera would move just slightly, it would ruin the whole thing, and I felt like I had to restart. It was really hard having to take so many photos, just to make it look nice. If I were to start over, I would put my camera in a more stable position, and take more photos to make it look more realistic.
Tell me about your weekend.

Over the weekend, I went to Dallas, Texas, for my cousin's wedding. It was a seven and a half hour drive that took forever. But when I got there, it was really fun. The hotel we stayed at was really fancy and the mini-fridge was packed! At night, people would gather in the parking lot and have a car show, so that was really cool. The wedding food was amazing and my dad met up with an old friend. On Sunday, we drove home and there were a lot of accidents because it started snowing. One guy even smashed into a pole right outside the McDonald's we were eating in! It was a very exciting weekend.

What is stop motion animation? If you don't know, look it up! Explain.

Stop motion animation is when you take a bunch of pictures and put them together to make them look like the object is actually moving. I did one of these a while ago and it was really fun!

Tell me about your idea for your 5 frame story board. What is the plot? How do you plan to make the story creative? Who's the main character? What is the beginning, middle and end? Tell me about your plan of attack.

The plot is my thirst for coffee and how it was quenched. I plan to make the story creative by editing the photos well, like I already did. The main character is me, thirsty for some coffee. I don't think my story is very creative, but I think I did a good job with the pictures.

Yesterday you edited and uploaded photos to your blog. Tell me more about your photos. HOW did you edit them? Why did you choose the photos that you did? Explain your assignment.

I didn't get a chance to edit all of my photos, but with the ones that I did, I chose the photos with a lot of outside light. I chose these ones because it was really easy to make lighting changes without totally ruining the picture itself.

Tell me about your weekend - details please!

My weekend was very exciting. On Friday, I got together with some old school friends and had a sleepover. We stayed up super late playing ping-pong. When I got home from the sleepover on Saturday, I played some baseball with some neighborhood kids. I had a friend over on Saturday night and we went down to the tennis courts to hit the baseball. I forgot the key so I had to climb the fence. It was really high. On Sunday, I watched some NFL and played baseball outside. It was a super-fun weekend.

What do you know about photography and/or photo editing? Do you take photos? How do you take photos? Do you edit photos before posting them on social media? How do you edit them? Explain any background or knowledge you have about photography and photo editing. Do you like it? Do you have any interest?

I have some experience with it. My friends and I started a photo editing account on instagram but that didn't really take off. I would love to start it up again if I have to. I think this could be really fun.

Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!

Over the weekend, I went to my cousin's wedding. It was really fun, especially getting to see my brother's awesome dance moves! I got to go to the Kansas State, Oklahoma game, which was really fun. The best part was whenever K-State would make a field goal, the Oklahoma fans would pass the ball up the stands until it got to the top. There would be a pause and then the fans would throw the ball as far as they could outside of the stadium. The fans would erupt.

Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

After reading the letter the teacher wrote, I have changed my mind. I know this may sound really bad, but I think the teacher is right. There is a time and a place for certain attire and sometimes one time might not be the right one.

Global Issue Infographic

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

I don't think this is a very good blog post for the guys because this is really awkward. But anyways, yes I think the girls should be able to wear what they want.

Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

Over the weekend, I had a cross country meet, which was really fun. I had to wake up at five on Saturday morning, and be at the school by five-thirty. After the meet, I watched some college football and hung out with friends. On Sunday, I got to sleep in for the first time in like a month. Overall, a pretty awesome weekend.

What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

An infographic is a visual representation of information, like a pictogram or a picture of some sorts. Infographics sort information in an easy and understandable way. A good infographic shouldn't be complex but instead a easy visual representation of information.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

Although I didn't go to homecoming, I still had a really fun weekend. On Saturday, I went over to a friend's house and messed around for a while. I was going to sleep over, but I had to go to church. On Sunday, I watched some football and had my first basketball practice for my competitive team.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

The difference that I would make would be to not put any prerequisite on any of the classes. If a student wants to take an advanced class at an earlier level, let them. And if they don't succeed, that's their fault for putting themselves in a class that they weren't ready for.

What are your favorite apps on your phone or tablet? Why?

My favorite apps include Flappy Golf, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and iFunny. I like Flappy Golf because it is the best game ever. I like iFunny because it has some really funny posts. The rest of them are pretty much needs because, as you can see, the rest of them relate to social media.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

Email is electronic mail. I use it when I need to contact my teachers for assignments, but otherwise, I don't use it at all. People use email to contact other people and for advertising purposes. Email etiquette means that you should be kind with what you say in your emails and not mean.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I think I made the right choice when I chose to take Emerging Technology. The web tools I have learned about will immensely help me in college and I am very grateful. These tools will help me in so many ways when I am writing papers and trying to organize ideas.

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

Usually I like writing but I take a lot longer to write than most other people, so I always feel like I am behind. I enjoy writing stories, not essays and statistical stuff. You need to be able to write in college so its a very good idea to start it now. I enjoyed writing in English today because we got to make up a character and create a story about them.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.
This quote means that you should be prepared or you are setting yourself up for failure. One time this was the case was when I didn't study for a Social Studies test. I ended up getting a really bad grade on it.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!
This weekend I watched some football. I also played some football. It was pretty cool. My fantasy team won... so that was good.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

Doing extensive research is very important when your doing projects. You need to know how to research because if you don't, it is very hard to find good, credible articles to support your topic. We have learned to always make sure the author/article is credible before we use it. My teacher has been very helpful.

Video Game Addiction

For my global issue in Emerging Technology I have chosen Video Game Addiction. I have begun researching the issue and you can find my research questions here.
Pretend that you are in your 70s or 80s. Complain about kids these days.

Oh kids these days. I can't believe them! They are always sitting  around on their little handheld computers. All of the boys are wearing colored shorts while I think that cargos are still the best choice.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

Over the weekend I mostly watched football. I played a little bit too and I hurt my elbow after I hit a tree stump and fell off my bike. When I came inside, my dog had gotten into the gummy bears and he bit me in the leg. We then had to make him throw up because gummy bears are extremely poisonous to dogs! So overall, a pretty good weekend.

Cyberbullying Presentation

Yesterday I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

I think we were asked to be uncommon because you didn't want our presentation to be boring and dull. The point of making them uncommon is to show that you really do care about the issue instead of just throwing together a presentation because you had to. While bullets and headers would be boring, an emotional presentation would stay on someone's mind for a long time.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

My Labor Day weekend was filled with adventure! I slept over at my friend's house on Sunday, and we stayed up until 2:00 A.M. playing video games! On Monday, I met up with another friend and went to a Labor Day celebration at my friend's country club. The funniest part was seeing a bunch of drunk adults having a belly flop contest! I am really sad about coming back to school.

Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

After reading the newspaper clipping, I think the principal is right when he says, "You are important and you are needed." He is saying that everybody has a part in the world, even if it's a really small one. He is also right when he says, "The world does not owe you a living, you owe the world something." He is saying that good things aren't just going to come to you. You have to work for them.

After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.

While watching Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech, I thought about how every human being in the world is just as good as the rest. Sure people are better at some things and worse at others, but that is what makes us who we are. It's not the amount of things you are given, it's what you do with the things you have. Ashton Kutcher did a great job of explaining this at during his acceptance speech, and I'm glad he sent the message to such a large audience.

What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?

A Public Service Announcement is something announced to the public to raise awareness for a particular issue, or problem, happening in the world. An example of a PSA is when people raise awareness against obesity. Once they release this announcement, there all all sorts of different fundraisers and groups to help people that are obese.
